5-Car Pileup In West LA Causes Delays On I-10

WEST LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A fiery five-car pileup in West Los Angeles was causing delays on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway.

The accident took place on the westbound 10 freeway at the Bundy Drive interchange near the Santa Monica city limits at 12:49 p.m. Saturday.

According to authorities, several motorists had reported a small, white BMW being driven dangerously in the minutes preceding the accident.

CHP officer Crystal Carter said officers were still determining what happened.

It was also not immediately known how many people were injured in the crash, Carter said.

Westbound traffic on Interstate 10 was backed up from La Brea Avenue to the crash site; eastbound traffic backed up onto Pacific Coast Highway and delays extended onto the nearby 405 Freeway.
