Take The Mayor's Challenge: Clean Water Pledge
REDONDO BEACH (CBS/KCAL) — The Wyland Foundation, AES, Toyota, West Basin Municipal Water District, and KCAL9/CBS2 kicked off The Mayor's Challenge Thursday, a contest at mywaterpledge.com that brings cities across Southern California together to focus on water conservation and pollution reduction in a friendly competition.
The Mayor's Challenge encourages cities to register residents for an online water conservation pledge. From April 1 – 30, individual pledges will apply toward their city's total water savings and pollution reductions over the following year. The city with the highest percentage of participating residents will be recognized for its efforts. Participants can win family packs to Disneyland, a day at Anaheim Stadium and a week of half-off admission to the Aquarium of the Pacific.
