Blogger: LA Clinic Leaked Private Info On Thousands Of Porn Stars

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A San Fernando Valley-based health clinic that caters to the pornography industry was under fire on Thursday for allegedly releasing patients' personal information.

The names, birth dates and stage names of more than 12,000 current and former porn performers first appeared on Netherlands-based Pornwikileaks.com earlier this year.

The clinic in question is AIM Medical Associates P.C., where many performers are tested for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.

Gawker.com posted an article alleging the information came from AIM, formerly the Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation clinic in Sherman Oaks.

The article was largely based on information from porn industry blogger Mike South and a performer, according to the newspaper.

The clinic was shut down in December by Los Angeles County public health officials after state health officials denied its application to operate as a community clinic for "business-related issues," The Times reported. It
reopened last month under the new name.
