AIDS Activists Want Flynt Porn Productions Shut Down

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — Local AIDS activists want health officials to shut down one of the biggest producers in the adult video industry for violating workplace safety rules.

KNX 1070's Pete Demetriou reports porn producer Larry Flynt is already facing hefty fines after Cal OSHA has cited his company for not using condoms during production.

In the last month, the agency issued 3 citations totaling $14,000 in fines relating to a failure of Flynt's company to follow state workplace rules relating to condom use by performers.

But Micheal Weinstein, president of AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), says that's not enough — and that efforts should be made to shut down productions all together.

If their current efforts fall short, AHF says its next move is to contact the state Attorney General.
