MALIBU (CBS) — The driver of a dump truck that overturned on Pacific Coast Highway at Kanan Dume Road was killed after the vehicle overturned and sheared a fire hydrant in Malibu.

The accident happened Wednesday around 11: 30 a.m. at the intersection of Kanan Dume Road and Pacific Coast Highway.

The California Highway Patrol says a dump truck sheared a fire hydrant and knocked down power lines. Officials say the truck was in flames when the fire department arrived.

The CHP is investigating.

The accident closed the intersection of PCH and Kanan Dume Road for about four hours.
