MOUNT WASHINGTON (CBS) — Police are actively searching for an armed man in the Mount Washington area.

Witnesses reported seeing a man with a gun running through various streets near Avenue 50 and Monte Vista Street, according to Los Angeles Police Department Lieutenant Teresa Gutierrez of the Northeast station.

The LAPD has set up a perimeter in the area.

Desiree Horton, reporting overhead in Sky9, says police are also searching by air.

Police encountered a possible suspect around 9:30 p.m. A foot chase ensued but the suspect remains at large.

No shots have been fired. No injuries have been reported.
