Man, 47, Seriously Injured In Auto Body Shop Stabbing

RESEDA (CBS) — A 47-year-old man was seriously injured in a stabbing in a parking lot of an auto body shop in Reseda Tuesday, police said.

A 26-year-old man, identified by police Tuesday as Marvin Osvaldo Gonzalez of Van Nuys, came at the victim with a sharp box cutter and began slashing him, police said. They said the stabbing occurred about an hour after a fender bender involving both men.

The stabbing happened at 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Hart Auto Body in the 6900 block of Reseda Boulevard, one block north of Vanowen Street, Los Angeles Police Officer Chris No of Media Relations said.

The suspect was booked for assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily harm, said Officer Karen Rayner of the Los Angeles Police Department .

The victim's name was not released.
