Port authorities say future infrastructure projects include a replacement of the Gerald Desmond Bridge and redevelopment of piers in the Middle Harbor.

"Construction has been one of the weaker sectors, and this is going to put a lot of people back to work," said Art Wong of the Port of Long Beach.

"There will be more jobs for longshoremen and truckers and warehouse people throughout the region," Wong added.
