Police Ask For Public's Help To Solve Long Beach Murder

LONG BEACH (CBS)  — Long Beach police asked for the public's help Monday in solving the fatal shooting of a 29-year-old Los Angeles man.

Police and firefighters were sent about 10:30 p.m. Thursday to an alley in the 1500 block of Pine Avenue after a passer-by found the man, police said.

The victim, who was shot once in the upper body, died the next day at a hospital. He was identified as Philip Victor Williamson.

Long Beach police are trying to ascertain Williamson's activities in the hours before he was shot.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call detectives Scott Lasch or Donald Goodman at (562) 570-7244.
