2 Consolation Mega-Prizes Drawn In Southern California

LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) — One ticket with all six numbers in the multi-state Mega Millions draw was sold in upstate New York, but runner-up tickets worth $287,323 were sold at 7-Eleven markets in Inglewood and Redondo Beach.

California Lottery officials announced that the $319 million ticket was sold in Albany, N.Y. It was the only one that bore all six numbers drawn Friday

Five consolation prizes for tickets that had the five winners, but missed the Mega ticket are going to people who bought their tickets in California, state lottery officials said. Two of those tickets were sold by 7-Eleven stores at 3 W. Rosecrans Avenue in Inglewood and 1535 Aviation Boulevard in Redondo Beach.

Other consolation winners were sold at a Shell gas station in Murrieta; a convenience store in the Central California city of Clovis and at a store just inside the California line on Interstate 80 west of Reno.

According to the Mega Millions website, the jackpot is the fifth-largest in the game's history. The biggest jackpot was $390 million in March 2007.

It ranks as the largest jackpot for a single winning ticket in the game's history, eclipsing the $315 million prize sold in California in November 2005.

The winning numbers in Friday's drawing were: 22-24-31-52-54, with a Mega ball of 4.
