Water Main Break Forces Closure Of PCH In San Clemente

SAN CLEMENTE (CBS) — A water main break led to the closure of a about a mile stretch of Pacific Coast Highway Wednesday in San Clemente.

Water from the break flooded the roadway at Camino Capistrano about 1:20 p.m., Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jerry Carlsen said.

The road was closed from Camino Capistrano to Avenida Pico until further notice, Carlsen said.

    With water rationing in place, most outdated pipes are bursting because of the build up in pressure.
