Singer Chilli Hosting Local Event Benefitting South LA Youth Shelter

STUDIO CITY (CBS/KCAL) — Chilli, from the R&B group TLC and VH1's "What Chilli Wants," stopped by the KCAL 9 studios Friday at noon to talk about a local event benefitting A Place Called Home.

The SoftSheen-Carson Roots of Nature/Picture of Strength will take place on Saturday, Mar. 19.

SoftSheen-Carson Style Squad members will treat guests to professional hair styling and consultations as well as demonstrate cutting edge natural styles in a live hair show.

Attendees to the free event will also receive a complimentary family portrait from professional photographers and a mini-makeover by Maybelline New York Makeup Artists.

For every person that attends the event, SoftSheen-Carson will donate $5 to A Place Called Home which provides educational programs, counseling, mentoring, music, dance and art classes to at-risk and gang-affected youth in South Los Angeles.
