WeHo Pot Dispensary Raids May Signal Tougher DEA Stance

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The number of medical marijuana clinics in West Hollywood has been cut in half following raids by federal agents, a move that could mark a dramatic policy reversal by the Obama administration.

KNX 1070's John Brooks reports the raids mark the first by U.S. law enforcement in nearly two years.

Before the raids late Tuesday, the White House had previously signaled it would take a hands-off approach to all medical pot stores that did not violate state law.

One person was arrested as federal agents confiscated both marijuana and cash.

The warrants remain sealed under court order, so charges have not yet been made public.

Only two other medical marijuana dispensaries are currently operating in West Hollywood.
