Foothills Residents Urged To Limit Water Usage

PASADENA (CBS) — Metropolitan Water District officials are expected to ask more than 1.7 million foothill residents to scrimp on their water usage, starting Friday.

The MWD's Weymouth Water Treatment Plant in La Verne will be shut down for 10 days of maintenance, and foothill residents from La Crescenta to Claremont will be asked to suspend outdoor watering and non-essential indoor water use.

The areas affected include Altadena, Diamond Bar, La Canada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Pasadena, Rowland Heights, San Dimas and Walnut.

While the Weymouth Water Treatment plant in La Verne is offline, the MWD will not be importing any water to foothill communities.
