Dion Returns To Recession-Hit Vegas With New Show

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Celine Dion has returned to the Las Vegas stage in a parade of sparkly dresses with thigh-hit slits, a stage full of trumpeters, violinists and drummers, and a special appearance by Steve Wonder.

The French-Canadian crooner sang the romantic opuses that made her an international star, including "My Heart Will Go On" and "It's All Coming Back to Me Now," in her encore performance Tuesday at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. She also shared a duet with Wonder to his "Overjoyed."

The three-year production is a stripped-down tribute to old Hollywood.

Dion's five-year stint at Caesars from 2003 to 2007 saw Cirque du Soleil-style dancers and Dion harnessed to a cable and flown in the air.

"A New Day" grossed more than $400 million over five years.
