Unemployed Rancho Cucamonga Man Wins Free Steak For A Year

RANCHO CUCAMONGA (AP) — A jobless California father of three is eating steak.

David Jimenez was laid off in 2009 from his job selling and installing automatic doors to hospitals and businesses. His family has been living off his retirement savings, unemployment checks and his school teacher wife's salary.

The San Bernardino County Sun says the financial strain is now easing a bit for the 37-year-old Rancho Cucamonga father, whose children are 6, 9 and 11.

Jimenez just won a year's worth of steaks in a Sizzler restaurants national contest. There were 16,000 entries in the "Free Steak for a Year Sweep-steaks."

Jimenez, who recently got his real estate license, got Sizzler gift cards worth $650.
