MISSION HILLS (CBS) — A woman who got out of a stalled vehicle on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Mission Hills was fatally struck Saturday by a Toyota Camry, the California Highway Patrol said.
The Camry, which was driven by a 31-year-old Lancaster resident, struck 49-year-old Rosa Margarita Montiel of Tehachapi just south of the freeway’s junction with the Golden State (5) Freeway about 2:15 a.m., according to the CHP and a coroner’s spokesman.
The stalled vehicle was on the shoulder of the freeway, but Montiel apparently walked into traffic, according to the CHP.
