Truck Transporting Sheep Overturns On Highway 95
BLYTHE (CBS) — A semi-trailer truck loaded with sheep overturned on U.S. Highway 95 near Blythe, and survivors were reportedly wandering the desert in the aftermath.
The crash, which took place at 9:56 a.m., blocked both directions of the two-lane highway. Several animals were left wandering along the roadway.
California Highway Patrol dispatcher Matt Clark said the truck overturned at mile marker 15. The flock's owner was heading from Blythe to the wreck with plans for a roundup.
Some of the sheep were killed, authorities said.
