OC Jewelry Store Robbers Strike For A Third Time

MISSION VIEJO (CBS) — Orange County sheriff's investigators were looking for two jewelry store robbers Tuesday who struck for a third time this past weekend.

About 8 p.m. Saturday, two armed men stole about $150,000 in valuables from Jared Galleria of Jewelry, 28241 Marguerite Parkway, in a takeover-style robbery, an Orange County sheriff's spokesman said.

The robbers ordered the eight to 10 people in the store to the floor. While one robber held a gun on patrons and clerks, the other suspect scooped up the gems, authorities said.

Investigators believe the robbers were the same ones who hit Rita's Jewelry, 24451 Alicia Parkway, Mission Viejo, Feb. 1, and Pacific Park Jewelers, 27271 La Paz Road, Laguna Niguel, Jan. 20.

The robbers were masked so suspect descriptions were slight. Investigators believe the suspects are black with one man taller than the other and more muscular.

The bandits got away with about $100,000 worth of jewelry in the Rita's Jewelry heist and a watch worth $27,000 and a diamond ring worth about $22,000 at Pacific Park Jewelers, officials said.

No one was hurt in Saturday's holdup.
