You Can Win Green By Going Green

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Going green helps the environment but by being aware of the planet, you could put some serious green in your pocket.

Money that is. Moolah, cash, Benjamins, dinero...

The Energy Upgrade California Program is holding a contest for residents of LA County...for those who have tried to make their homes more energy efficient, the program will step up and award five people $10,000 in energy upgrades.

One grand prize winner is going to receive $50,000 for improvements, including solar panels.

The contest entry runs through March 31.

The program is also offering rebates up to $4,500 for complete work.

To be eligible for the rebates/incentives and contest, the work must be performed by an Energy Upgrade California participating contractor. Improvements include insulation, HVAC upgrades, sealing, tankless water heaters, energy-efficient windows, etc.
