SACRAMENTO (CBS) — Having trouble remembering if it’s “Cuss Free Week” or “Motorcycle Awareness Month”?
You’re not alone: state lawmakers say there are just too many bills being introduced in Sacramento, and that they only serve to divert time and money away from the real issue — the deficit.
KNX 1070′s Jon Baird reports Republican Assemblyman Brian Nestande says it’s time to focus on the bigger problems.
A new bill introduced by Nestande could shelve as many as 800 bills per session.
Nestande says that could save a lot of money, since according to one estimate, it costs up to $25,000 in staff time and resources each time a bill is introduced.
