Girls Square Off At H.S. Varsity Baseball Game

LAKE BALBOA (CBS) - For what is believed to be the first time ever, two girls started against each other in a high school varsity baseball game.

Marti Sementelli of Birmingham High took the mound against Ozallay Sailors from San Marcos of Santa Barbara.

This isn't the first meeting between each other as they were teammates on past USA womens baseball teams.

"OZ", which is how she is known on the field, went three plus innings for San Marcos.

As for Sementelli, she took a no-hitter all the way into the 4th inning and would give up just five hits and five strike outs.

Best of all, she pitched a complete game after picking off a runner on second base for the final out. Birmingham won 6-1.
