Husband Drives 100 MPH, Wife Clings To Hood In Meth-Fueled Chase

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS) — A drug-addled domestic dispute turns into a terrifying ride for one northern California couple.

Police say a woman rode on the hood of a family van for 35 miles as her husband drove at a high rate of speed after a fight that began when the husband attempted to drive away high on methamphetamine.

KNX 1070's Mike Landa reports the woman, who declined to be identified, told reporters she was literally holding on by the tips of her fingers.

Manteca police officer Rex Osborn says the wild ride didn't end until the husband slowed down at an off-ramp and she fell from the van.

The unidentified woman said it was the "stupidest thing" she's ever done.

She also recalls that while holding onto the hood at 100 miles an hour, on the other side of the windshield her husband "looked crazy" taken over by methamphetamine.
