Convicted Rapist Loose In Riverside After Allegedly Jumping Parole

RIVERSIDE (CBS) — The public's help was sought Wednesday to locate a convicted rapist who authorities ay jumped parole and is now living on the streets.

David Ray McReynolds, 53, was last seen two weeks ago in the area of Grand and Jurupa avenues in Riverside, wandering around a shopping center complex, Riverside police Officer Mike Dillon said.

McReynolds, who is considered "high risk," may be camped out along the Santa Ana River bottom, Dillon said.

McReynolds was convicted of forcible rape in the 1980s and has since been convicted twice for failing to register as a sex offender.

Anyone in California convicted of a sex crime is required to keep law enforcement officials informed about where they're living.

In 1996, McReynolds was sentenced to four years in state prison. He was sentenced to a two-year term in February 2009.

McReynolds is 5-foot-10, about 190 pounds with brown eyes, a mustache and shoulder-length brown and gray hair.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts can call Dillon at (951) 901-7196.
