Parents Recall Girl, 13, Killed By Suicidal Driver On The PCH

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — It was almost a year ago, that Emily Rose Shane, then 13, was walking along the PCH when a suicidal driver ended her young life.

It would be an understatement to say her friends, family and community were all devastated.

Her family said she was the kind of girl who welcomed new kids to school, always made a point of finding the kids who sat alone in the lunch room and someone who went out of her way to cheer up other people when they were down.

Tonight, Emily's parents  — Ellen and Michael Shane — open up to CBS2's Serene Branson about their grief and their loss...how they are coping and what they've done to keep their daughter's memory alive.
