LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Consumer Reports has named Japanese automakers Honda, Subaru and Toyota the best all-around carmakers for the third year in a row.

The ratings are based on the magazine’s average road tests and predicted reliability scores.

Honda had the best overall score, followed by Subaru and Toyota.

Volvo was fourth and then Ford, which made the largest year-to-year gain, and Hyundai.

The lowest rankings were for Chrysler, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and General Motors.

    I don’t buy american cars anymore. They are junk. I don’t care what the american car commercials especially Ford’s say about theirs being better than Honda and Toyota. It’s just sales talk. A friend just bought a brand new Lexus and it’s a beautiful car. I like Infiniti myself. My two year old Q35 traveled almost 60 thousand miles and I haven’t had any problems.
