HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — A water main break closed down Highland Avenue Monday morning between Santa Monica Boulevard and Lexington Avenue.

The DWP was called about the break at about 9 p.m. Sunday, DWP spokeswoman Terry Schneider said.

Crews brought in extra equipment to speed up the repairs but still hadn’t finished by 4 a.m.

The northbound lanes of Highland Avenue opened at 5:30 a.m., and the southbound side opened up at 6 a.m., Schneider said.
