Swim Coach Arrested For Having Sex With Teen Girl

SANTA ANA (CBS) — An Irvine swim coach is behind bars Friday on suspicion of having sex with a teenage girl several times.

Todd Sousa, 36, is being held on a $100,000 bail after being arrested Thursday on suspicion of child molestation and rape.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, a 15-year-old girl contacted authorities on Feb. 23 saying she had sex with Sousa four times over the past several months. The teen said Sousa was her swim coach.

Sex crimes officers then questioned and later arrested Sousa Thursday at JSerra High School where he was giving swim lessons.

Sousa and his wife, Jill, own Swim Venture, a company that teaches swim lessons at pools across South Orange County.

Authorities say Sousa was not employed by any area schools as a coach.
