Ex-Prison Guard Sentenced In Theft From Victorville Store
VICTORVILLE (AP) — A former state prison guard has been sentenced to jail for stealing $3,000 worth of goods from a Victorville Target store while in uniform.
The San Bernardino Sun says Tonya Henderson was sentenced Wednesday to 120 days in jail after pleading no contest to grand theft.
The 41-year-old Adelanto woman was arrested a few days after Christmas in 2009. Authorities say she was in uniform and with her 6-year-old son when she stole items that included a big-screen TV, a video game console and a steam cleaner.
Henderson was a corrections officer at the California Institution for Men in Chino from 2002 until she resigned in May.
