'Two And A Half Men' Shut Down

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of "Two and a Half Men" for the remainder of this season.

Star Charlie Sheen's recent troubles and statements to the media led to the decision.

"Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen's statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of "Two and a Half Men" for the remainder of the season," CBS Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television said in a statement.

The announcement was issued hours after Sheen called a radio show and lashed out at co-creator Chuck Lorre.

Sheen was hospitalized after an overnight party in late January and was subsequently admitted into rehab. His absence prompted the suspension of production of the hit show.

Sheen recently expressed disappointment that production had not resumed on the show, saying as recently as Thursday that he was ready to get back to work on March 1.
