Long Beach Police Hunt For Person Who Set Cat Ablaze

LONG BEACH (AP) — Long Beach police are asking for the public's help in identifying the person who set a cat on fire.

A police department press release Thursday says officers found the severely burned cat Sunday morning on Daisy Avenue, its fur still smoldering.

Officers took the animal to an emergency veterinary hospital where it was examined and euthanized.

The cat, a young adult, appeared to be predominant dark gray or black, had white hind feet and a white face patch.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Long Beach police.
