LONG BEACH (AP) — Long Beach police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person who set a cat on fire.

A police department press release Thursday says officers found the severely burned cat Sunday morning on Daisy Avenue, its fur still smoldering.

Officers took the animal to an emergency veterinary hospital where it was examined and euthanized.

The cat, a young adult, appeared to be predominant dark gray or black, had white hind feet and a white face patch.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Long Beach police.

You know I pray and hope as powerful as a prayer can be, that if this was done by a person? a freak?…..I hope that this person does not suffer a painful death but instead, lives along with his family the most horrific accident causing deformation and pain for the rest of their lives!…and those who think that I have spoken wrongly and that it was just “a cat” can join this persons pain! I could not believe that someone would do this…actually NO, I take that back I do believe someone has that capability because those freaks live and walk this earth and it has not been the first!

I hoped karma comes to this “poor excuse of human waste” and suffers a way more painful death. This poor innocent cat didn’t deserve to die this way. I’m a pround mama to 4 rescue kitties that don’t ask for much but to be loved and cared for. I don’t believe in violence but this is a huge exception….
