OMG! Former Security Guard Accused Of Stealing From Trinity Broadcasting Network's Donation Box

COSTA MESA (AP) — Prosecutors say a former security guard at Trinity Broadcasting Network has been charged with stealing money from a donation box at the Christian broadcaster's Orange County facility.

Deputy District Attorney Nikki Chambers said Wednesday that 38-year-old Robert Ellsworth Shorter Jr. of Garden Grove was caught on surveillance cameras taking the cash during a series of late night break-ins.

Chambers says Shorter often wore a blue t-shirt with the words "God is Good" written across the chest.

Shorter is scheduled for arraignment Thursday on nine felony counts of second-degree commercial burglary.

He faces a maximum sentence of eight years and four months in prison if convicted.

Prosecutors say Shorter was fired from his job as a guard for TBN in 2008 for sleeping on the job.
