LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A Los Angeles police officer was not injured in a collision involving his patrol car and a bus transporting a group of people to Sunday’s NBA All-Star game, a police lieutenant said.
The accident, which was reported about 9:30 a.m., took place in the vicinity of Pico Boulevard and Figueroa Street.
The officer was making a right turn from westbound Pico Boulevard to northbound Figueroa Street when the bus, in the No. 2 lane on Pico Boulevard, made an abrupt right turn and struck the left side of the officer’s patrol car, said Los Angeles police Lt. Jim Gavin of the Central station.
Gavin said no one aboard the bus was injured, but the officer’s patrol car sustained minor damage.
