Man Sentenced To 8 Years In Prison For Assaulting Disabled Women
POMONA (AP) — A man who sexually assaulted three mentally disabled women at a San Gabriel Valley day care center has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
Juan Fernando Flores, 21, was sentenced Thursday under a plea deal with prosecutors that avoided a trial and a potential 27-year sentence. He pleaded guilty to rape and penetration with a foreign object.
Flores was arrested in May after confessing that he assaulted the women while working as a cook and bus driver at an El Monte center.
Family members of victims and advocates for the disabled opposed the plea deal as being too lenient.
