Broxton, Dodgers Want To Put His 2010 In The past

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Jonathan Broxton and the Los Angeles Dodgers are eager to put his second-half struggles far into the past.

The normally reliable closer was an NL All-Star last year, but completely fell apart in the final months. He eventually lost his job to Hong-Chih Kuo and posted an 8.59 ERA in the month of September.

Broxton threw from a mound Friday for the first time in spring training. He looked to be at ease during a 25 pitch bullpen session.

New Dodgers manager Don Mattingly says he's confident Broxton will bounce back this season. Mattingly has already said Broxton is the closer this year.
