Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak Says Trade Unlikely

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- General manager Mitch Kupchak says the Los Angeles Lakers are unlikely to make any trades before next week's deadline, even after a humiliating defeat in Cleveland before the All-Star break.

Kupchak attended the unveiling of Jerry West's statue outside Staples Center on Thursday night, but West didn't provide any advice to the man who replaced him at the Lakers' helm.

Although the Lakers have been linked in trade rumors to disgruntled Denver superstar Carmelo Anthony, Kupchak says he doesn't think he'll shake up his roster before the Feb. 24 deadline.

The Lakers headed into the break with three straight losses, including Wednesday's loss to the NBA's worst team.

They still have the NBA's sixth-best record (38-19).
