Suspect Shot By Sheriff’s Deputy At End Of High-Speed Chase


EAST LOS ANGELES (CBS) —  A brief but high speed pursuit ended with a suspect  being shot by sheriff’s deputies in East Los Angeles Monday evening.

The shooting occurred near Olympic Boulevard and Sunol Drive about 8:30 p.m., said Deputy Diana De Leon of the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station.

The suspect was originally wanted for assaulting an officer, according to officials.

De Leon said she did not know the condition of the suspect, who was taken to a hospital.

No deputy was hurt, said Sgt. Michael Thomas of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.
