So Long, Sun: Rain, Cold Temps Returning To SoCal

LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) — Springtime in February sure was fun while it lasted.

Sunshine and warm temperatures enjoyed around the Southland so far this month are set to give way to rain, snow, wind and cold starting at mid-week and continuing through the weekend.

A series of Alaska storms are moving toward the West Coast.

The National Weather Service says low pressure developing over the Gulf of Alaska and eastern Pacific will bring rain starting Wednesday, perhaps as early as Tuesday evening. Up to two inches of rain could fall in some areas Wednesday afternoon.

Snow levels are expected to drop to 4,000 feet, and as low as 2,000 feet, by the weekend.
