Officials Try To Identify Illness That Hit Playboy Mansion Party

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles County health officials are trying to identify an illness that hit 170 people at a global conference that included a party at the Playboy Mansion.

The Department of Public Health says Monday that some kind of respiratory infection is suspected of causing fever, chills and other symptoms among people who attended the DOMAINfest Global Conference on Internet business earlier this month.

The conference and related parties were held in Santa Monica and other locations. Included was a Feb. 3 fundraiser at the Playboy Mansion in Holmby Hills.

Health officials say they haven't tied the source of the illness to any specific location but add the illnesses appear to have been limited to conference attendees.

Playboy Enterprises says the Playboy Mansion is cooperating fully with the investigation.
