CORONA (CBS) — People looking for a four-legged friend to take home for Valentine’s Day will have a chance to adopt a pet from the Corona Animal Shelter at reduced rates Saturday during a “Find Your Forever Love” adoption event.
The shelter and the Corona Companion Animal Rescue Effort, waived the $15 fee typically charged for adopting a pet.
“The best Valentine you’ll ever receive is waiting for you at the Corona Animal Shelter,” said Darryl Heppner, Corona’s animal control manager.
She said spay/neuter and license fees will still apply. License fees will be charged only if the adopter lives in Corona.
Organizers also distributed gift bags full of treats for dogs and cats to encourage visitors to take an animal home. Animals available for adoption can be viewed at: http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/ca260.html.
