Brush Fire Contained Along 14 Freeway
SANTA CLARITA (CBS) — A fire that started near the shoulder of Antelope Freeway burned through an acre of brush Thursday in Santa Clarita before being extinguished, a fire official said.
The blaze was reported at 3:41 p.m. along the southbound 14 at Newhall Avenue, said officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Fire officials said it started "as a small spot on the right shoulder," but grew to about an acre of brush probably due to minor winds.
Firefighters had the blaze under control by 4:25 p.m.
No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.
