HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBS) — A mother raced to keep her son’s memory alive at the Surf City Half Marathon Sunday.
Candace Random, of Romoland in Riverside County, ran the miles in memory of her 19-year-old son Luke, a UC Santa Barbara student killed by a great white shark.
Ransom and Luke had been training for the Huntington Beach run until his death.
Her other son, Travis, took his brother’s place beside her Sunday.
Ransom finished in 2 hours, 10 minutes and 20 seconds.
