Little Actor Becomes Big Star In VW’s Super Bowl Ad

LOS ANGELES (CBS/KNX1070) — A young actor from Orange County has won the hearts of millions after landing a Super Bowl ad. Now he’s opening up about his heart condition, so that other kids can know that they’re not alone.

KNX 1070’s Ed Mertz Reports

“When I get scared, my mom and dad just say, ‘you have to cry through it’ so I just do it and there it is,” Max Page says.

Page was born with a congenital heart defect and has a pacemaker. He was treated successfully at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

“The two lower chambers didn’t divide completely. There was what we call a defect,” his physician, Michael Silka, said.

Page’s Super Bowl commercial for Volkswagen has already gone viral with more than 16 million hits. It features Page dressed up as Darth Vader trying to use “The Force.”

“I hadn’t seen the movie so I just… I thought Darth Vader did this… I tried just different motions and they liked it, because everybody else was copying Darth Vader,” Page said.

The 6-year-old, who is already a regular on the CBS soap opera, “The Young and the Restless,” says he practices his lines with his mother.

“I learn it and then I show it to my mom and then we read through it. We get really good at it.”

“That kids is being lead by somebody.” What in the world is that supposed to mean?

      • Casey

It means allowing comments on news articles, videos, and blog postings is a bad idea.

So what? All 6 year olds have to be dumb and not able to speak full sentences? Maybe he’s just a smart intelligent kid. He said 4 sentences in this article, I think you made a pretty radical judgement on that.

But there was another little boy that did the DVADER commercial too!!
