18 Arrested in Castaic Prostitution Round-Up

CASTAIC (CBS) — Los Angeles County Sheriff’s vice detectives in Castaic arrested 16 men and two women for crimes related to prostitution, authorities reported Friday.

The arrests were made Thursday night along a stretch of Castaic Road where authorities had received complaints regarding prostitution-related activity, according to the sheriff’s department.

Fourteen men were arrested for solicitation of prostitution; two women were booked for loitering for the purpose of prostitution; and two men were arrested for interfering with a peace officer, authorities reported.

No names were released.

    I think prostitution is one of the oldest professional in the world and it should be legalize. Also I can’t understand why the soliciter is the one who get arrested and the ladies of the night go free. something wrong with this picture.

    If we can reduce Pot to a $100 fine, why can’t we legalize Prostitution. It’s a waste of police time for a financial arrangement between consulting adults.

    The only reason the fuzz do these type of dragnets (and DUI checkpoints) is that they stand to profit once they seize assets in relation to this “crime”, i.e. cars, which the department can then auction off.
