It's Girl Scout Cookie Time!

STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — It's Girl Scout Cookie time! Carol Dedrich, the chief external relations officer, stopped by KCAL9 Tuesday to talk about the history of girl scout cookies and the gift of caring.

An icon of American culture, the annual Girl Scout Cookie Program evolved from a local event in Oklahoma in 1917. It is now the leading business and entrepreneurial program run by girls.

This year, girls are thrilled to launch their very own cookie enterprises that help them reach their goals. Whether girls plan to use their proceeds to go camping, serve underprivileged children or adventure to Europe, the Cookie Program teaches them they have the power and resources to achieve.

Cookie Facts:
● Cookies cost $4.00 per box.
● All cookies are kosher.
● Peanut-Free Options: Samoas, Trefoils, Thin Mints, Thank U Berry Munch
