Hemet Man Accused Of Using Stun Gun On Wife

HEMET (CBS) — A Hemet man accused of shooting his wife with a stun gun spent Saturday in jail.

Riverside County sheriff's deputies responded to a reported assault around 10 a.m. Friday at Yale Street and Mayberry Avenue in the unincorporated area of Hemet, deputies said.

Eric Armstrong, 33, was suspected of shooting his wife with a stun gun. Armstrong had run away from the residence before deputies arrived, according to deputies.

Deputies spotted Armstrong about two hours later walking on San Jacinto Street at Mayberry Avenue. When they attempted to question him, he ran south on San Jacinto Street and west on Whittier Avenue, where deputies caught and arrest him.

Armstrong was booked into Smith Correctional Facility in Banning for suspicion of assault with a stun gun, corporal injury on a spouse and resisting arrest.
