CBS Renews 'The Talk' For 2011-2012 Season

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — CBS is renewing daytime talk show "The Talk" for the 2011-2012 season.

The show, which premiered Oct. 18 and is hosted by five mothers in the entertainment industry, has averaged 2.21 million viewers, according to figures compiled by The Nielsen Co. and supplied by CBS.

"After only a few months on the air, 'The Talk' has delivered creative and ratings growth and established a strong profile in daytime," CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said.

"The co-hosts have clicked together; the topics have connected with the audience and the show has added a new dimension to our top-rated daytime lineup."

Sara Gilbert, best known for her role as Darlene Conner on the 1988-1997 ABC comedy "Roseanne," developed the show and is one of its hosts and executive producers.

The other hosts are actresses Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini; "Big Brother" host Julie Chen; and entertainment manager turned television personality Sharon Osbourne.
