Monrovia Couple Gets Jail For Helping In Abductions Of Nephews
SANTA ANA (AP) — A Southern California couple has been sentenced to 90 days in jail for their role in the abduction of their young nephews, who were taken to Texas in a custody dispute.
Orange County prosecutors say 26-year-old David Daniel Nicholas and 29-year-old Linda Fernandez pleaded guilty on Tuesday to felony child abduction.
The couple briefly hid their 2- and 4-year-old nephews at their Monrovia home after the Oct. 7 abductions from an Anaheim apartment complex. Additionally, Nicholas rented a van so the youngsters could be driven to Texas.
The boys father Abraham Fernandez and grandparents Louis Mendoza Fernandez and Elizabeth Fernandez have also been sentenced to jail terms for child abduction.
