Long Beach Edges Pacific Again By One Point

STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) -- Casper Ware scored a game-high 19 points and had five assists to lead Long Beach State to a 67-66 victory over Pacific on Wednesday night.

Larry Anderson's running jump shot in the lane with 11 seconds left gave Long Beach its second one-point win over Pacific in 11 days and kept the 49ers alone in first place in the Big West.

Anderson finished with 18 points and five rebounds. T.J. Robinson added 12 points for Long Beach (12-10, 7-2).

Sam Willard led the Tigers (11-9, 3-4) with 18 points and eight rebounds. Nyika Williams scored 15 points and Terrell Smith 10.

Demetrece Young made a 19-foot jumper with 29 seconds remaining to give Pacific its final lead in a second half that featured 14 lead changes. After Anderson put Long Beach back ahead, Young was short on a jumper in the key as the final buzzer sounded.
